What is your favourite word?

Daily writing prompt
What’s your favorite word?

The word clarity comes to mind…it isn’t so much a “favourite” word, but the word I try to be mindful of.

We have many different types of communications throughout the day:

  • Chatting with friends about upcoming dinner plans
  • Discussing work items with colleagues over Zoom calls
  • Teaching subjective courses like design studio classes

If the teaching happens to be on the first day of the class, it requires another level of preparation.

All these different types of communications require CLARITY.

Some require less preparation than others; next Friday at 6:00 p.m. at Restaurant A would be sufficient for dinner planning; however, work project meetings/ teaching clarities require much more preparation.

I like the word CLARITY, but the word does not always like me back!

It is one of those words that gets thrown a lot in our everyday languages. Still, the effectiveness is always in question, including yours truly!

Maybe I should have a “clear” conversation about my communication clarity level with personal friends over dinner. Giving/receiving feedback from personal friends would ease the butterflies in my stomach!

On the other hand, I wonder if I can truly receive/handle a clear kind of negative assessments from work colleagues… of course, if they are positive kinds, bring them on. 🙂
