A goal implies that it has starting and ending points: winning an Olympic gold medal, getting 100% on math text, getting into a specific university, etc.
Throughout my life, I set up those tangible goals and accomplished them, some more successfully than others.
However, there are different types of goals that do not have a clear path or even ending dates, making them much more difficult to continue or assess. Personally, writing (more precisely, improving part of it) has been one of those goals.
Many, many years ago, I decided to blog to improve my writing skills while hoping to reach the viral status from the “gazillion readers” I was planning to acquire:)
Not only did the “viral post” status seem elusive, but I found writing two weekly post tasks themselves nearly impossible. The “hardest” part of this goal is being PERSONAL; it is a constant struggle between myself and writing.
Overcoming many resistances -writer’s block, don’t feel like writing moments, ten more minutes on social media activities- in front of writing tasks is a constant struggle I still face.
The PERSONAL part of the goal makes it HARD.
