Urban Planet near Eaton Center is closing down! Styling my haul

I keep telling myself to shop more at mid-range stores like Topshop and M Boutique so I’d feel more like an adult. But wherever there is a big sale, I’m a moth to the flame. It’s just part of my bargain hunting DNA! Anyways, for any Toronto ladies reading, I totally recommend checking out the closing sale at this Urban Planet. The entire store is $10 or less! And very select items like some jeans and outerwear are $20.

Dresses!!!

I’d say that the best thing to buy at this sale would be dresses. Since change rooms are closed, it’s better to buy things you can easily eyeball for size. When my friend and I went last Saturday, there were plenty of sizes and styles. Also plenty of rompers if you’re into those.

This pink velvety dress caught my eye since I don’t already own anything like it. (That’s the justification I use whenever I’m buying something I want instead of need).

Contrary to what the fashion industry says, you could totally wear summer dresses into the fall or winter. Any summer dress plus a jacket and tights can become a fall dress. But I prefer wearing darker prints and more structured cuts in the winter.

Layering pieces

There were quite a few laying pieces like bomber jackets, hoodies, and swimsuit cover ups. I found this in the tops section even though I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be a dress.

I loved the print and the ruffles. The material is just a touch scratchy, but it’s not too bothersome for me. Shopping tip for lower-end stores: stick to darker colours unless the material is thicker. Lighter colours make thin material look more transparent, which could make it look blatantly cheap. Whereas if you’re wearing a thin material in a darker colour, it won’t look as transparent. It’s one way of making cheaper clothes look more expensive.

Bralettes!!

I bought a black lacy bralette a few weeks ago, and honestly considered ditching bras altogether. When I saw a whole table of bralettes in various pastel shades, I had to have one! Be aware that these sizes run a small since Urban Planet is a juniors store. I’m a medium in bralettes even though I’m always a small in other things.

Accessories

I had to have this cat ear headband to channel my inner cat!!

Sadly, there wasn’t a sale on items that are already under $10, so I paid regular price for this. So if you’re in search of accessories, I definitely recommend choosing ones that would normally cost more. Unless you’re like me and get moments when you haaave to have something even though it’s not best value.

As far as I saw, most accessories and things like water bottles and notebooks are near the cash registers. See how they get us with impulse purchases?

Happy shopping and I would love to see your hauls!

Hugs and kisses,

Jin
