5 pieces I indulged in (and one purchase regret)

I suppose we have our own definitions of  what exactly an ‘indulgence’ is. For me, it’s when I spend more than I normally would- could be just a touch, could be a lot. I’d feel a little guilty after, but it’s worth it most of the time.

Zara leather jacket/blazer

I needed a leather jacket that is also classy enough to wear to work. This is a perfect cross of a jacket and blazer!

I knew I had to invest in this piece because the material feels very sleek and the cut fits me very well. I have a hard time finding jackets/blazers that are broad enough at the shoulders but tapered enough at the waist.

Michael Kors sneakers

Every adult with an adult-y wardrobe needs a pair of adult-y sneakers for days they can’t be bothered with formal shoes. These will be sooo worth it once I finally break them in!

I love the simple, elegant design of these. I find it more tasteful when higher end brands don’t plaster their logo everywhere. Anyone else agree?

Merino and silk sweater

I was at Banana Republic shopping for a birthday present for mom. I found these stylish, high quality sweaters at a very reasonable price and bought one for myself as well.

As a cold-blooded person, winters can get tough. It’s nice to have a sweater that will actually keep me warm while not being bulky. If you’re also a cold-blooded person who struggles in the winter, I have a post that shares a few tips.

My graduation dress

I wasn’t someone who would spend a lot on dresses. My middle school and high school graduation dresses were both from bargain retailers because I couldn’t be bothered. My mom took me shopping for a university graduation dress.

I tried this one, it fit really nicely, and I felt really good in it. But I saw the price and was like “it’s a bit expensive.” My mom, being the best person in the universe, said something like “but you like it I’ll buy it for you. Formal dresses usually cost this much and you can wear it again in the future.”

Converse high tops

You might be thinking “whaa? how is this an indulgence?” Actual full-price converse do cost a fair bit to someone like me who grew up wearing $10 sneakers. Realizing that I should, indeed, be spending more than $30 on shoes if I want them to last was a heck of a wakeup call!

At the time, I could’ve used a new pair of sneakers. I also really, really, really wanted the exact same shoes worn by one of my favorite anime characters ever. Anime watchers, want to take a guess?

Regret: Karl Lagerfeld heels

I wrote in a previous post that I’d take these with me on a surprise getaway, but I’ve come to regret this purchase.

When I saw them in an outlet, I was so drawn to them and the temptation was real. I was like “when would I ever wear these?”, and my friend was like “you wear them once in a blue moon, but mainly you just look at them,” and I was like “alright, that makes sense, I’ll buy them!”

Well….no…..that does not make sense, not to me at least.

Anyways do you have any notable indulgences or regrets?

Sending virtual hugs,
