About Me – The World of Rachel

Hey guys! I guess I haven’t introduced myself yet.. I’m Rachel! I started writing for Onah’s blog just this month. I’m interested in all things fashion, beauty, and lifestyle and I’m hoping to express some of that through my writing here. I’m excited to share my work with you! Here are a few things about me that you may be interested to know:

Education:

I am a recent graduate of the MA Fashion program at Ryerson University (as of April this year!). This degree really taught me to think critically about the fashion industry as well as introduced me to my research, which I worked on for about a year and a half across the course of my degree. Interestingly enough, my research focused around fashion blogging and the ways that it has influenced and changed the industry.

I also have an Honours BA in English from McMaster University. Can you guess that I love to read?

Interests:

Fun Fact: I have a teeny tiny tattoo of a wave on my foot.. it’s a symbol of strength and I love it!

My main areas of interest are fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. I like to think I’m a glam person – but really I think I just have a love for all things ‘girly’. I watch a lot of makeup videos on YouTube and read a lot of fashion blogs and magazines.. it’s just my thing.

I’m also a crazy cat lady.. I only have one cat right now (this is her) but if I could I would fill my entire house with cats. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going to the gym, and writing posts like this in my spare time!

Style:

Hmm.. I think my style is quite original. I’m really into basics.. white tees, denim, simple prints.. I really like to keep most things in my wardrobe classic so that I can carry items from season to season quite easily and so that my wardrobe remains timeless. I don’t want to be emptying my closet on a regular basis to make room for new trends. I think it’s important to have mostly classic pieces and some trendy pieces each season to mix things up. 🙂
